Tornadoes

I had a dream

A dream about a whirling cloud

Falling out

Out of a clear blue sky

It tore my house down

Shattered all the windows

That's the first time I saw a tornado

I had a dream

A dream about some aliens

They were living

Up inside my trees

They said they came here

To analyze the human race

But they didn't expect the tornadoes

And the winds go round their heads

There's no sign of rain

Still they end up getting wet

Yeah the winds go round the world

I met a woman

Standing in the dark of night

She held her daughter

Sleeping in her arms

She said, "I need four dollars

Or we don't have a room tonight

And my baby's afraid of tornadoes.

"'Cause the winds go round her head

There's no sign of rain

Still she ends up getting wet."

Yeah the winds go round the world

What makes you think you can resist the gravity?

A whirl of light and sound: romance, brutality

Just when you think you live another fantasy

It's your reality

I loved a woman

Who said she was in love with me

Maybe she was

I guess I wouldn't know

Sometimes at night

I think she's still there next to me

And that's when I dream of tornadoes

'Cause the winds go round her head

There's no sign of rain

Still she ends up getting wet

Yeah the winds go round the world
